Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship
About
Chi Alpha is an interdenominational Christian fellowship on the UTSA campus with a strong emphasis on discipleship. Discipleship was Jesus’ method. He was relational, but uncompromising. He was tender, but just. He cared about the individual just as much as the group and saw the need for personal connection. We can see this not only in his relationships with his disciples, but also in various interactions with others: the woman at the well, the rich young ruler, widows, children, the broken down and bedraggled. In this way, we can see the impact that relational discipleship could have on the university campus! Real relationship. Real life. Everyone matters. There are no little people, no little places.
Our mission philosophy stems from 2 Corinthians 5:20 that urges Christians as "Christ's Ambassadors" to be reconcilers! This is also where we draw our Chi Alpha mission statement from: "Reconciling students to Christ, transforming the University, the Marketplace, and the World." Our heart is to be a community of believers on campus that are rooted in this five fold philosophy: Discipleship, Worship, Prayer, Witness, and Fellowship. In Chi Alpha, we can live life together, seek understanding, and gain perspective on life trajectory. Come join the conversation!
