Hindu YUVA
About
Hindu YUVA is set up as a non-sectarian forum to preserve, practice,
and create awareness about the cultural diversity and spiritual
heritage of the Sanatana Dharma (eternal truth). In the modern day
context, Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma is a fusion of various
traditions and philosophies evolved over time like Vedanta, Advaitha
(Non-Dualism), Dvaitha (Dualism), Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism etc.
YUVA means youth in Sanskrit, the language in which majority of Hindu
scriptures are written. YUVA in our name stands for Youth for Unity,
Virtues and Action.
Hindu YUVA is about giving an immersive and experiential exposure of
Dharmic way of life to the UT-San Antonio community while having a lot
of fun in a friendly and positive atmosphere. Driven by the ideal that
the whole universe is one big family, we encourage maintaining Dharmic
cultural identity in harmony with the larger community.
Our activities include yoga, games, interfaith panels conducted by
campus professors, celebrating Hindu festivals and showcasing the rich
diversity of the Dharmic cultures. We also hold general body meetings for games, theory, and
discussions on interesting contemporary topics and Dharmic view on
these topics. Membership is free and open to all who are interested in
experiencing the Dharmic way of life. Come join us!
