The Swing Dance Society at UTSA provides a fun, safe space for the exploration and practice of Swing Dancing and its historical/cultural background. Everyone is welcome to participate in the oldest and most original of American Dances. From Harlem to Hollywood, from Sweden to Singapore, the entire world is rediscovering the swinging beat of 1920's-40's Jazz and early rock'n roll. Come join us for a night or two, or three, or 10 of dancing, exercise, playfulness, good music, and friendship. Unlike other dance forms like ballet, tap, jazz, or even most ballroom dances, swing is about feeling the fun of the movement and about sharing it with other people rather than technique. It still has steps, partner dancing wouldn't work well otherwise, but the point is your partner, not your feet.

To Go Swing Dancing You Need:

Closed-toed Shoes

Comfortable and/or stylish clothing

Feet willing to move

A mood to have fun!
